Writer Resources

I have been writing the KeyMaster Chronicles for over ten years. But I only started to take it seriously in 2016 when I started maternity leave - I suddenly had so much free time! Sadly, my free time has been limited since (babies grow up), but any free time I get I have spent it on my craft as well as researching publishing options. Here are some of the websites, podcasts, YouTube channels and books that I have discovered along my own journey.

If you are a Fantasy author, email me as I shall be looking for Guests for my up-and-coming AuthorTube channel!

Websites

Joanna Penn is big in the self-publishing field. She has several podcasts, a YouTube channel and great website full of useful articles, interviews and information. All of which are worth checking out. I owe her a lot for inspiring me to take my writing seriously.

The Self-Publishing Formula is a self-publishing show created by another big fish in the self-publishing world - Mark Dawson, an international bestseller with a heap of publishing experience and marketing advice. In addition to a podcast with a wealth of information, free resources are also available for those interested in making their writing a business.

National Novel Writing Month in November is something most writers are aware of, but if you're not, sign up here, dust off that manuscript and make some writer friends! During NaNoWriMo or Camp NaNo (April and July) you can join a cabin, set your own project and goals. Your account can be accessed generally and is great for keeping taps on your projects and progress.

She interviews professionals from all areas of the publishing profession, covering legality, mindset, craft, dictation, audio and marketing - to name a few.
